Born on the tracks 119 years ago, Renault’s cars represent performance marriage and refined technology. The brand is driven by the pleasure of driving and by the passion for life. The country’s best-selling ‘hot hatch’ now features as standard Michelin PS4 tires associated with 17-inch wheels, with brake calipers and the central part painted red. The red color is also on the lower contour of the specific bumper with design of F1 style blades, rearview mirrors, diffuser and new side track with the inscription ‘Racing Spirit’. Inside, the inspiration of a cockpit is still present and with details that further evidence the sportiness of the Sandero RS 2.0. A numbered plate, located near the gearbox, identifies the Racing Spirit edition serial number. The ceiling coating is now black and the red color is on the side air diffuser rims and on the speedometer outline as well as the seams and seat belts. With ‘Piano Black’ finish, the central panel and internal door knobs give an even more sporty feel to the interior, highlighted by the black and red colors.

The wheels are now equipped with the new 205/45 R17 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, providing better braking performance and even more durability to the Racing Spirit limited series. Designed and developed by Renault Sport Cars, together with teams from Renault Studio America Latina studio and the Renault Technology Americas center, the Sandero RS 2.0 is a legitimate sports car. With a 2.0-liter engine that delivers 150 hp and 205 Nm with ethanol, coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission with short ratios for greater sportiness, the hot hatch reaches the top speed of 202 km / h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 8 seconds. The Renault Sandero RS 2.0 stands out for its ability to provide sports sensations from the first touch on the accelerator, and enjoyment in everyday use. The sporty and exclusive suspension, coupled with both the electro-hydraulic steering tuned by Renault Sport Cars and the four-wheel disc brakes, provides excellent performance, ensuring stability and safety. And with the RS Drive system you can also choose between three driving modes: Standard, Sport and Sport +:

Standard Mode : This is the safest mode for everyday use. The ESP and the ASR are switched on. Standard Mode requires no driver intervention (enabled by default).

Sport mode : pedal with faster responses, more sporty engine snoring, slower deceleration, increased idle speed to 950 rpm, allowing for reactive driving. The Sport mode is activated by pressing the RS button lightly on the center console.

Sport + mode : all the features of the Sport mode, in addition to the ESP / ASR switch-off, allowing you to fully enjoy your sporty driving, taking full advantage of the car’s potential. The Sport + mode is activated by a long press on the RS button. Produced at the Renault factory in São Jose dos Pinhais (PR), the Sandero RS 2.0 Racing Spirit limited series has a suggested price of R $ 66,400 and is limited to 1,500 units. The factory includes, among other things, stability and ESP (ESP) and traction control (ASR), climb start assist (HSA), LED daytime running lights (DRL), automatic air conditioning, (driver and speed limiter), parking sensors and Media NAV Evolution system, the multimedia center integrated into the panel with a 7.0-inch touch screen. The Sandero RS Racing Spirit will be shown during the Salon de Buenos Aires 2017, which takes place June 10-20.


Renault revealed in Geneva the new generation of Scenic, inspired by the R-Space Concept, presented at the same event in 2011. Thus, the French brand bet on a renewed image and more in the style of the current models of the line, such as Megane, Espace or the Talisman. The design of the new Scenic is lightly inspired by the Espace, standing out in Geneva thanks to large 20-inch wheels as standard, due to the higher ground height, the longer wheelbase and the reduced distance from the rear axle to the rear. The new Scenic features a different light signature, with C-shaped headlights on the front, and depending on the versions, Pure Vision LED technology. At the rear, the lights provide a 3D effect with Edge Light technology.

The interior presents space and quality, resulting in a continuity between the dashboard and the door panels. The instrument panel resumes its position in front of the driver and integrates the color head-up display, which allows a posture dedicated to driving pleasure. The fixed glass panoramic ceiling, proposed as optional, offers greater luminosity, thanks to the aperture without the central beam. The central sliding console allows the driver to configure his interior. When the center console is in advanced position, it incorporates the edge panel, positioned under the large vertical screen. In this way, it allows the driver to enjoy an interior similar to that of a sedan, while retaining the high driving position of a minivan.

When the console is positioned backwards, the new Scenic’s configuration is geared towards driver-passenger sharing. The interior is also marked by modularity, allowing various configurations of the seats. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 572 liters, and can also have 63 liters of additional total storage inside, for example, through the Easy Life drawer in front of the front passenger seat and with 11.5 liters and protection bmw 330i car covers. The Renault also stands out for the bicolor body, unique in the segment of the compact minibuses. This confers distinction and modernity, enhancing the dynamic proportions of the automobile. The bicolor offer is offered, as an option, from the second level of equipment, and as standard on top-of-the-line versions (depending on the country. As a standard, the new Renault Scenic comes with the Active Emergency Braking System (AEBS / Active Emergency Braking System), a driving aid that enables active emergency braking if a pedestrian is detected. This functionality is available between 7 and 60 km / h.

Gasoline options include the TCe 115 units with six-speed manual transmission and TCe 130, also with six-speed manual transmission. This year, an electric diesel offer, called Hybrid Assist, will emerge with the Energy dCi 110 diesel engine associated with a 6-speed manual transmission. With this system, which allows the recovery of energy in the phases of deceleration and braking, Renault looks for in the new Scenic, to gain the leadership of the segment in terms of consumption. In the Hybrid Assist, which works with a 48 V battery, the electric motor assists the thermal engine, which remains in continuous operation.


Renault continues to expand its line of models with the finishing level Initiale Paris, which this week received two new members. These are the Scenic and Grand Scenic Initiale Paris, which will now also be available in this more luxurious version. In terms of exterior design, as well as in other models of the Initiale Paris line, they have a more refined design, thanks to the incorporation of some chrome details, specific tones for the body, new designs of alloy wheels and even some subtle differences in front design. The interior has also been reviewed, as the Initiale Paris versions receive better materials to cover most surfaces, Nappa leather to coat the steering wheel and the shift lever, new leather upholstery, chrome interior package, as well as equipment that adds some unique details to that version.

Its equipment includes all the elements available also in the most equipped versions, including the bi-zone automatic climate control, 8.0-inch touch screen infotainment system, integrated navigation, rear view camera, Head-Up Display, sunroof and a complete set driving assistance. The supply of engines for France covers petrol and diesel options. Among the first is the 1.2 literTCe with 130 hp, while in the diesel line will be available dCi in versions of 130 or 160 hp of power. The gasoline engine can only be combined with the manual transmission, while the more powerful diesel can also be coupled to the EDC automatic transmission with double clutch. Prices in France start from 33,200 euros, corresponding to Scenic Energy TCe 130 and go up to 39,400 euros from Grand Scenic dCi 160 EDC.


In the last Frankfurt Motor Show 2017 the French brand revealed the Renault Symbioz Concept, a prototype that served to present the brand’s vision for the future stand-alone and fully connected models. The vehicles that are likely to be launched in the near future. According to the brand’s description, the concept shown in Germany featured an impressive electric driving set and a plethora of connectivity and infotainment systems as a sample of the evolution of today’s vehicles until the 2030s.

The new Renault Symbioz 2 Concept is not an evolution of this model, but the functional version of the concept, a real vehicle and not a mere static model like the one revealed in Frankfurt 2017. Among the most peculiar examples are the warnings that the vehicle gives in the minutes prior to a trip, showing other scheduled devices, such as television and home tablets, details of the trip 15 minutes before the scheduled time. In the same way, 5 minutes earlier, these devices reflect some of the vehicle and traffic data, such as the state of charge of the batteries, possible traffic problems and the time and temperature that the user may encounter. In this way, the vehicle becomes something more than a mere transport system, welcoming the occupants inside as if they were in a living room, allowing online activities such as entertainment and work.
